I went out to eat with a few friends at Strings in Chinatown. It has been a while since I had a decent meal due to being stressed out and what not. (╯︵╰,)

 We also tried the Stringeria, which I think is perfect for summertime sipping. Very fruity ❤

 After moseying around in Chinatown and totally missing the snack shop due to closing hours, we headed to Alan's hotel to chill for a few hours.

I haven't seen Alan since... last year I think? I thought I would have had to wait to next Acen to chill with him. But I am glad that wasn't the case!

A Not So Gloomy Sunday

A gyaru acquaintance, came over again on Saturday. ;-;

We had pizza, wine, and ice cream and watched two movies together.

On Sunday, though it was cold as the Artic in Chicagoland, I decided to wear a dress I haven't worn yet. I have been looking more into Onee gyaru/Ane Gyaru, office/conservative type looks lately.

Dinner was an appetizer of raw fish, scallop and oysters.
I am not a big oyster fan, but the other pieces of fish was delicious! I want to go back there!!

Spectacles

 For breakfast/lunch today, my associate and I went to a restaurant. I had a cajun pasta dish with sausage, shrimp and chicken. The service was pretty off though and I thought the dish would be a bit spicier.

It was decent. 

Talking about life, and what I want to do now that I am done with school  makes me feel really old, and a bit anxious. I want things to happen NOW NOW NOW, but I know that all that I am trying to do will fall into place like the earth's plates being shifted slowly. It is nice to talk things over and get my head into gear with things.

Four Belly Dinner!

I met up with Pepa, Alex, Rachel and Ken for a dinner at Four Belly in Boystown. I wanted some takoyaki and posted it online, and Pepa knew of a place that sold some! The atmosphere was lovely, and it is a nice dinner spot either with your pals or a lover, and the takoyaki was awesome. 8)

I know I will definitely find myself here again when I need a takoyaki and/or ramen fix!

Need to work on the side from sticking up like that.

Art Exhibit and Shopping Day

Saturday, I missed my mentor's Bday, but I networked and got an interview for a documentary about being a black gyaru, nerd, and artist with my Big sis Ashley Woods! I always wanted my art up and around Chicago, and also the world, so people can  see what I can do and what I choose to express. I wore a corset earlier at the showing, and I was pretty nervous talking about myself!

I dressed a bit more daring for a little dinner with Phil to chill with his friend and just chat about random stuff. I wish I had a nice belt to match up with my outfit though,but I actually suck at belt buying. 

Sunday morning!

Went for a ponytail look today! My inspiration was Rikku from Final Fantasy10s with a lil bit of Cocona lol

 I went shopping with gyaru sister Purin! This was our first time shopping together, and we found some awesome stuff! I have not had a chance to shop because of hardcore budgeting lately, and not feeling what is in shops like Charlotte Russe or WetSeal. But, I was able to snag an AWESOME sale though!

Casual Cute

So, I get to do quite a bit of stuff here in Chicago. I do a bunch of stuff not only because I like to keep busy, but to get funds for shopping or traveling and to keep from being bored. I am doing a bit of freelance photography/graphic design/blogging/clerical in Chicago to gain funds for shopping and also traveling and such.

I personally do not feel like my life is "luxurious" perse, but, I get to (try) to live as much of a gal life as possible, especially on a budget that includes living expenses... And boy oh boy, do I know about living on a budget!

Food

I choose not to eat out a lot, or try not to spend money on take out, but sometimes I do treat myself to something pretty tasty. I prefer to eat fish or chicken over beef and pork, and I prefer not so greasy foods as well. I also get to drink a bit with my coworkers instead of going out, especially when it was cold! When it comes to food, I tend to not go over 25$, and that is I am really hungry. Most dinners, especially including tip, goes up to 20$, which includes a drink and maybe an appetizer or two.

Living

 I also just found a place with the help of Phil, near the Blue line. This picture does not capture the beauty of the neighborhood so much, but I love walking out side and looking at nature and also the houses around me. Also, my part of the rent does not exceed 500$.

Shopping

Whenever I go shopping, I look hardcore for deals, and usually head to the clearance and sales racks. I shop at The Magnificent Mile and sometimes at the WaterTower in Downtown Chicago (Wetseal, Charlotte Russe, F21, etc) and I also hit up thrift stores and second hand shops. If I have the time to, I customize old clothes, or make scarves, or a purse or two if I am feeling ambitious! I have not done a lot lately, but I might make something again.

Magazine Gifts for my collection! 

I also buy gyaru mags or items/clothes that I know I will want if I choose to buy them, and I try to buy things I will actually use quite a few times, than just once or twice, and tossing it. I try to spend wisely if I need to spend, and also save for important things. Some gal mags have gifts from popular brands. It is a nice way to get something cool and useful, and you also get more bang for your buck!

I have been super busy and totally forgot to post pictures up for valentines!  Being a member of Gal*luxy, I had a theme blog post for my gyaru sa, Gal*luxy to share with other gals around the world how we spend our time with our loved ones. I also have been becoming a bit more organized due to working in an office setting. gah... It can be a little stressful but I think I have been keeping up with my planners...

For my personal (gyaru/school) life, I am trying to use school as my way to dress more gyaru like. Sometimes I am pretty casual with my look (band shirt and jeans, but I think that with my hair looking a bit styled and with a full face of makeup and lashes, I feel more passable these days. ;)

As for gal mags, I bought Edge*s and Ageha. Ageha is as photoshopped and glittery as ever, and Edge*s has some nice style inspiration. I have been trying to get into more styles that will reflect a cool, sassy, alternative, mature for myself when I am not kicking it with my gal sisters.

I also got a gift too yesterday that cheered me up! Sanrio goodies from a cutie pie! I am a S U C K E R for Kuromi goods!

Also doing a different hair regiment as well! No more relaxers!
