Northern Illinois Jfashion Meet Up

I was invited to come out to Saturday's event that was hosted by Stellarkei from the Northern Illinois Jfashion Club at Mitsuwa and also Round 1 that recently opened up in Bloomingdale.

Japanese fashion and alternative fashion

We chatted and conversed a bit more as we ate snacks and shared stories at our table. One of the ladies noticed I was knitting after I ate my lunch... something people who are into gyaru fashion aren't necessarily known for!

After eating, we got ready for photo ops to capture our outfits that we wore to the meet up.

Dapperest fellas

After magazines were bought, lunch eaten, and pictures taken, we headed to the recently opened Round 1 in Bloomingdale to take purikura!
I was so excited to see these beautiful machines, I almost cried in excitement! Though it is not that close to Mitsuwa or Gameworks, or even Chinatown for that matter, these machines were a Godsend and have been long awaited for YEARS for Chicagoans!

Glorious!

"What is this contraption?"

They had matching Sailor Moon pendants!

When we had our fill of playing arcade games, trying to win cute plushies, and taking purikura, the rest of the group toured and shopped at various stores in the mall.

Despite the cold weather, it was an enjoyable day out meeting with other (Japanese fashion) and alternative fashion enthusiasts!

Bye Bye GGA

Watch the clip here

Since we both have quite a handful of mutual friends, I am sure the lot of you have seen the official end (at least a wrap up for 2013-2014) of the GGA's. For those who are new to the blog and this fashion, "Gaijin Gyaru Awards", an award show created by Lady Li for the Western Gal community.
An award show that was to have the community participate in something other than the drama and G_S, and not only that, to have some sort of entertainment for us as well besides the gyaru magazines. Like, c'mon, who cannot say that the para para clips sent in were pretty awesome and a good idea!!

I think that with anything created in the world, in and out of the gyaru community, there will always be people who will love it, feel indifferent, and also show their dislike for it for whatever reason. As for the GGA's people will be mad and probably were,  because they weren't nominated but someone else did or for the fact that the Award show existed. Like dayum, we can't have nothin nice! haha

I felt and still feel really honoured to be asked to be a Presenter for the GGA's! Though I was only a presenter for the GGA's, thank you for your hard work, Lady Li, and also those who had sent in clips and what not, to have made this happen. I thought it was a very sweet gesture and gift to the gyaru community.

Thank you

Harajuku Fashion Walk

Fashion Walk-Harajuku Version

I attended the Harajuku Fashion walk on Saturday. I got to strut my stuff with the other very fashionable people all decked out in our gear in Downtown Chicago! From cool to kawaii, we took lots of pictures and chatted with each other.

Fave "Kawaii" Android Apps

Ever since I got into this Android app downloading thing a few years ago, I have come across some great ones and some that were not so hot.
The ones that I keep now either social media related, or just some random things to pass the time.
I have a few deco apps that I have used over the past several years, so I will share em with you! Deco apps are great for gals and lolita's alike,  people who love purikura (photo booth picture stickers), and people who just love to put stamps on their photos!

Photo Wonder
I had this app a while back, and still do! I mainly use it to collage photos together so they do not take up a lot of space for posts etc. They have added more decorations, and filters PLUS roller brush decorations too!  Out of all the deco apps, this one seems to be the only one with a breast enlarger in the Beautify options. I think that "make up" on deco apps are weird. Like, they are soooo obvious! But great if you are just foolin around.

Pros: Great for collaging photos together! You can have the collage as a rectangle or a square which is great. The Filter Camera Option works great!

Editing screen and Decoration screen

Cons: The Materials Center takes a few seconds to load, and when you download a frame for a picture... I can't seem to find it! This app will send you a message telling you that you have not used it for a while. Kinda creepy!

Bugs: The Dark Circle Remover option was a little iffy for me and would diverge from the line I wanted to make under the eye. So you end up with a random lightened streak across your face!

Kira Deco
This is my least used app. The selection page looks nice and is straight forward, but dated. When it comes to the editing screen, things get iffy. The icons can get in the way when you are decorating your pic and they shift from side to side when you want to add the decorative stamps, frame choices are limited, and user interface takes up too much of the picture. Though the shifting of the side bar for the stamps may seem like a good idea, I think it would have been BEST for them to just be out of the way anyways!

Menu Screen and Decorating screen

Pros: There are some cute stamps and frames in this app.
Cons: Some of the frames look a little cheesy. The options bar is in the way of the picture. The stamps aren't put into categories which bugs me!
Bugs: No bugs perse, just really bad user interface.

Hair Colour

So lately, I have been bored with my black hair, dark brown /black extensions, and partially bleached bangs.

first bleaching

summer

august'10

jan 10th ish (where did all the light parts go? lol ;o;
i guess all snipped away....

The bleached parts that i did kept up really nice, especially with a light snip snip every now and then. Didnt have problems with really terrible breakage or super bad split ends either.

I don't want to have a REALLY light hair colour, just something a bit lighter and different, and something I DON'T see in the 'hood. (bright blondes, skin tone hair, red found in those kinky twists...)

I want a dark ash type of colour. Not too dark, not too light.
just a bit darker!!

i like this one. maybe a little darker though??

i kinda like the girl's hair on the left

top girl with tan shirt on

I just dont know how light my hair would have to be to have the colour I want to catch on nicely. Maybe I should try it on the lightest part of my bangs...

Maybe if I dye it to "brown cinnamon" and them add a colour to tint it a little it might work (since I dont want it super bright anyways...) hmmmm

"Rich wine" colour looks kinda nice....
hrrm...

Im so indecisive!!
ahh!! I just dont want to end up with a fucked up colour, or damaged hair[especially since im doing this on my own!!] (also why im not going super light... but maybe it'll be ok?) {also have to buy new extensions to dye too.......)

All I know is that I have to condition and moisturize ALOT.
Atleast I dont have to worry about my hair getting damaged from the few perms I used to get. (last one was in late June of '10~, and not going back <3)

and i think i blog too much LOL
maybe 1 post per week unless i have something super interesting? LOL
geez... im at about 60 something posts >.>

But thank you to my  98 followers for reading all my weirdness, and babbling lol.
