Sunk Cost Paradox - Sunk Cost Fallacy Pt2

Depaul Business Event
2016 Depaul Business Event
One statement that resonated during this event was “if a business, etc, isn’t fueling your growth, then it’s alright to leave.” It was not just about money, though.... if an entity is registered as a business.... then it has to pay the people they employ... I digress... Another point that led to the Sunk Cost Fallacy post! There have been a lot of establishments where I not only learned a lot from, but was able to track the metrics of my growth and progress. [Just to be clear], I even learned things from one organization (business? non profit? start up?) where I was to wear the label of a dumb slutted version of myself to have someone else comfortable and “professional” at my own expense and without my consent based on the experiences I downplayed for the sake of peace and focusing on what was less negative.

It seems that those actions of mislabeling someone out of one side animosity, revenge, and even paranoia than guilt can be considered a one-sided empowerment strategy despite it creating an unsafe climate for someone else in an anti-black, misogynistic, anti spicy-worker or smex positive person society, (ie, harassment, sexual abuse) This is amplified even more when they do not have a community of like minded individuals to keep them safe. Who cares that despite the "empowerment," is not consistent for everyone they come across who are being shoved into a marginalized group who are deemed as non-people? Better yet, how to gain that upper hand so that its in your favor when the "empowerment" is just cosplay to gain money and status and be seen as a "winner"? Is this a common business and competitor strategy? It must be. (writes notes)

Why lie to prove loyalty and keep up appearances for a stranger when the facts say differently?

Also, who cares when it’s an easy way to feel superior, be anti blackity black, snubby, aggressive in a covert way due to envy, jealousy, or even someone triangulating you to make you a puppet to your desires, childhood wounds and issues with your parents etc.? Or is there something else they are considering to encourage and shape their decisions? ๐Ÿค”

Just gotta deal with it I guess. People will be sensitive and/or look for fault no matter what. Answer something correctly? Bad choice. Skip? Wrong. Redirect? Wrong. Be nice and respectful? Wrong. Ask for clarity or lecture? Wrong. Do something minimally healthy for yourself? Wrong. These situations start to turn into a catch-22 (paradox, or lose-lose situation) where any option you take will not benefit you at all...

It's as the saying goes, "people are going to talk about you anyway..."

Unless you see it for what it is, despite them telling you otherwise, to still have a vice grip on you and your emotions... and in turn, take time away from thinking of something artsy and creative that you could be producing in the meantime. Cunning.

Perhaps it’s all designed to #engineer situations where being cast as the “mean black bitch” [than actually being one] to further an agenda as the core strategy that works out in the favor of the one orchestrating everything. Who needs to actually follow through with promises or hit core metrics? Interesting life and career hack!

As for companies and the lessons learned, some will simply have more to offer their staff in terms of growth and opportunities (office politics and favoritism aside) who are employed, contracted, or interning with them than just offering vague "exposure" to placate people in lieu of financial compensation and respecting professional boundaries.

People want views rather than being able to pay their bills after coming out of a recession, right?

Until next time, Heartlets.

Stay well, stay hydrated.๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿ˜ˆ✨
