I'm never gonna be your saviour Im never gonna be the one...
I fell in love with this dark black + white video done by Twigs with INC. A somber mood resonates and entwines from the lyrics and video.
The beginning opens up in a desert, with the three characters looking quite fatigued, and Twigs looking like she is about to become slightly and gently possessed while laying on a bed in a white dress.
With relationships, I feel that people want to try to be this special person for the other, be their all, while this song tells of a different tale.
So, of course being black, it is expected of me to speak on issues of things regarding the black folk and black experience in America.
(Mike Brown, Trevon Martin, etc and so on)
Because I am a black person. An African American. A person of Negroid features and blood. A person with African Heritage. A person with possibly a few drops of Native American blood in me as well... perhaps. A person who is in their 20s. Someone raised from the SouthSide. Spent time in the "Wild 100's"....amongst some other things.
So of course, I gotta speak my mind on young men being shot point blank, chased by white skint people... right?
Shot in the back, with their heads turned from someone. A police officer, right?
Or those killed who have a fake weapon on them.
But....I am just a college graduate. A college graduate from a private school that can't even drop 4grand to start paying back to get my diploma to show I went to a school and completed it.
I am just a part time worker, getting minimum wage (in Chicago, it is still pretty much set at $8.25 an hour. Keep in mind, its about two dollars higher than what I was making as a teenager in High School.)
So, as a black person, from the hood, if you will, police brutality should not be rewarded with cash or a "time off from work" and a tap on the wrist. You are not Stryker or Sonya from Mortal Kombat, so sit yo belligerent ass down. You do not get a "Heroic Brutality." You do not get a "flawless victory" or an achievement. Sorry not sorry.
On the prowl for something new to consume, I visited N to Watch Paranoia Agent by Satoshi Kon, creator of Paprika and Tokyo Godfathers. Having watched a few of Satoshi’s previous works, and being interested in series that have psychological elements to them, I knew that I would not be disappointed with the art style and obscurity of the storyline.
So, even though it has been only like a few days after I moved, I feel really good. I can save a bit more, and start whittling down some payments for student loans (oh joy... I am just so excited...)
Student loans can kiss my ass
The days seem brighter and more vivid, and I have been getting in more moments of meditation and getting my head straight to really take on the rest of this year. I feel good and hopeful, more creative and productive, and even feel like creating new looks when I go shopping eventually.
Karaoke with the girlz
Every now and then, I go to a bar or a karaoke bar and relax a little bit. Singing helps more than having a quick drink because well... I tend to keep wandering back to thinking about something work related. >____>; How lame!
I feel a little bad that I had to put away a lot of my my gyaru and kawaii things up for a while due to my move. I know somethings I will definitely go back to or pull out for an event or a convention, but I guess this means I really have to focus on planning and working. ahaha. I will try my best to still look not busted or janky when I pick up another job.
Some weeks ago, The Artsy Maid Cafe had a super cute meet up at my favorite cafe downtown!
Yup... Two years has flown by and due to various reasons, I'm headed back to the South Side.
It sucks because I kinda like my neighborhood, but hopefully it will be a good thing. I will be able to sort things out, help my fam, and maybe even volunteer at my high school since I will be closer there. I want to do a little something different in my old neighborhood while I am back there again.
When I move back out again... I don't quite know where I want to move to. I think I'd stay in the city still.
Though the transportation in Chicago is better than some, it still eats up quite a bit of time especially heading to and from the north and south sides.
Oh wells. Maybe I should have learned how to drive a bit sooner due to the distance I will be traveling in my city! In due time......... right?
Debating on taking up another semester or so of school... But unless its online or night classes, I may not be able to.
One of the most recognizable characters of the Playstation 2 installment, Wakka is a Blitzball player of the Besaid Aurochs. With his orange hair and bright clothes, he reflects the sunny, sandy atmosphere of the Besaid Islands. He is one of Yuna’s guardians and the coach of the Aurochs, a team who can’t seem to score a goal and is ok with just doing their best.
Man, convention season is right around the corner! I have a few ideas for cosplays, but it totally depends on if I can even get the materials for them or not. =________=);
My roommate is fixing up his friends cosplays, and I'm just sitting back like (oh... okies.... I guess I'll just imagine a cosplay out of thin air or something...)
But, I may do a more kosher cosplay of a Mortal Kombat Character though. There are quite a few I have wanted to cosplay as for a looooooooooooooooooong time.... and being a perfectionist..... welp.... doesn't help so much!
But, I did cosplay as Vespa from Sailor Moon way back when when I was in College though for a little project. I hope I didn't upset the girl who was making it though because I wanted her project to turn out super well! .... oh wells.
But, I hope that the next time I will be ready to take on the character again!
Anyhoo....
This is one of the MK characters I wanted to cosplay as!
Its a bit of an... ahem... revealing outfit, but there are always ways around that! ^w^;
I am thinking up something for sure.... Because I really want to get into that cosplay groove every once in a while.
Other than that....
I treated myself to a delicious salad and pink guava coconut water! Yippu! It (the salad....duh) was green and lively!! With some fruit and almonds. My teacher wanted me to be a vegan/vegetarian about a year or so, but I will have to slowly find alternative ways of getting my fave snacks in too! I do love my ice cream and what not from time to time!! Maybe the core of my diet will be veggies and just lil extras of meat or fish from time to time.
Does anyone else have a prob with keeping up with meal making and not wasting fresh veggies due to working etc? (>____<);;;;;
It’s a no brainer that I am in love with eccentric fashion! If you haven’t known… well now you do! I have been a part of a particular Japanese subculture called gyaru for about seven years, experimenting with my looks and fashion sense as I saw fit. I initially used shops catered towards teens around Chicago, went to thrift stores and second hand shops, even customized clothes and made some by hand to be able to create my looks to show off my creative side. Whether they were all on point or nah… is a different story, but I had a lot of fun creating looks and merging things I liked together.
It has been soooo long since I've done my eyebrows! I finally got around to doing the whole 9 yards with them: bleaching, trimming and tweezing.
I usually just tweeze a bit and trim when the lil hairs get long and my brows start looking a bit thick. Just doin the bare minimum too keep my forehead from looking caveman like. Lol.
I feel that my new phone cam is not up to par with my IG and mobile blogging needs! ๐
I'm in my city camoed out, leather booted, kissin b(&*^%^^& in the club.
So, I decided to Abel-ify myself last night. I was having wayyy to much fun with this. lol.
It was on my mind for a while, so I decided to try it out. I used black eyeshadow, a bit of mascara, gel liner, and my dark brown eye brow pencil to create my brows, beard and moustache, and to also help with that sleepy, tired, and kinda stoned look that he always has going on... Well, save for some pictures where he is smiling. LOL
d'awww!
So moody!
Though I totally couldn't get my hair like his... nor a wig that I pretty much destroyed... I think I came pretty close for my first try!
And you have to do it all just to know where it gets you.
You can also check out my vine to see me lip sync to his song lol.
In a world where the majority of the population has a music player of some sort attached to them, it is no question that having a trusty pair of headphones that also look good is a staple.
The thing is, that in this world where you need a trusty pair of headphones to listen to your favorite tunes, there are so many different varieties, looks and colours that are available to choose from!
Loving technology and being a part of a tech and gaming group, I think it was a no brainer that my attention was going to be captured by these nifty pair of headphones I saw on Tumblr from Axent.
Being a kawaii item lover, these won even more points in my heart!

The design of the models from Axent is sleek, futuristic and to top it all off very trendy even for the more discerning of eccentric otaku, nerd and techie tastes.
Besides being stylish and just super cool, you can also use these headphones as speakers too to share your music with your friends and the world! Or, if you would rather listen to your music by yourself, that is always an option too.
You can also have the ears light up. Another thing about these headphones is that you can either have the cord attached or not to the ears while listening to your music, giving you a little bit more freedom compared to some other models of headphones on the market.
