Halloween

Well, I had to work that day, but that's alright. I should have done a bit more to my make up that day even though I was going to be in uniform anyways, but the weather was too gross outside! Not only was it windy, it was drizzling and chilly too. I am surprised my lashes stayed on!

I heard that some kids and parents skipped trick or treating this year because of the weather conditions. Hopefully next year there will be pleasant weather for it.

Adult potions!
I am glad that one of the other store workers had some Halloween Spirit! And even more happy that I got to see some people in costume too! I found 2 Waldo's, Princess Leia, a stormtrooper, and a baby giraffe to name a few!

Artsy Maid Chicago
Did a lil promoting for a maid cafe project!
So, as of right now, the second project I am assisting with is with the (redacted)! We hit 200+ likes this week which is super awesome! I felt super amped again at the end of the day.

This should have been my Halloween look though... Creepy face and all! ahahah.

As some of you may have seen or know, besides normal life stuff and drawing, I have been doing more Youtube vids in my spare-ish time again! I am glad that I got the energy and ideas for em, and even more glad that some of them have made some people laugh too which is pretty awesome!
Though the vids I am posting now is kinda different and will differ from what I used to upload, I hope that anyone who comes across them will enjoy them. :-)

Here are some links for you to watch!

Goofin Around With the Shooping

I am so bored, a lil frustrated and dealing with off and on again creativity. I feel so anxious being out of college! But, sometimes, I do channel that anxiousness into a project or portfolio piece.
Anyways..... I got super bored... and was really inspired (REALLY INSPIRED) by Riri's feature and cover spot for W mag. My female roommate threw the mag away and I was pretty pissed off cuz I found an American mag I liked, but I was glad the mag cover was online though.

So.... I decided to use some past pictures from photoshoots and did a slightly mature/mainstream Gal Vip mag layout parody. (=^o^=)

What's the must-have lust-have burando for the fall season?.... I have no clue, you tell me!!

Alternate "covers"

Here are some other pix I was thinking of using from old shoots.
The far right one... looks more like something for Halloween I guess.

I had fun with this, even had some nice chuckles too.

Until next time!

Happy Birthday to Me

from Santasvillage.com

Another year has spun for me. A lot more lessons learned, more music listened to, more steps walked.
Today I'm just trying to chill out. Gelato, cheesecake and pizza in hand, listening to Jhene Aiko and Fka Twigs, trying to just sort out the rest of the day and also the rest of the year. Thinking a big &^#$& you to some things and just trying to soothe my overactive mind. Sometimes I think its a curse to be so creative and also not wall yourself off from people in the process.
Also still looking forward to my second/new job too.

A trusted individual and even the person who reviews my portfolio tells me to chill out and to be kind to myself. Like, damn... have I been that hard on myself and stressing that much lately? Its not like I don't have a reason not to, but gah...
Well, I'm gonna find something to watch or listen to and just do a lil something productive, like completing 50 million more job apps.

The Diary of an Ugly Duckling

I've been writing for many years now and online blogging about my journey into JFashion for about 7 years. That is a lot of words. A lot of characters. A lot of pages and I am well aware this post may just be too text-heavy to read for some...

From being a glasses with a cord attached, gifted program, A and B honour roll ugly duckling student,to being obsessed with alternative and Jfashion in my young adult life, at least with fashion, things have changed. I switched out baggy male jeans and t-shirts for slimmer skinny jeans and black hoodies like some emo kid to switching it out again to look like a walking block of colour... but of course at times wearing mostly all black.

Fashion Walk

The past two fashion walks were fun stuff!

Couldn't help the rainy day running on a fashionable parade, but one thing does irk me. At the Harajuku Fashion Walk, a few picture takers were quite rude to some of the people who were left over from the Walk, and I was not too pleased.

You don't have to be that frantic for a photo. And show some respect.
People like that tire me out because are there any manners??

whew.... But aside from that.... I look forward to more fashion walks in the Windy City.

Until next time!

Fall Fashion Inspiration

Clothes clothes clothes... Happy October 5th! Its pretty much fall now, and I have not even prepared anything for it fashion wise. I never really do. Chi-town fall and winter are just not my thing. But, I am trying to get some ideas to execute for the fall and winter to look cute for once. heheh

PuriKura For Illinois!

Why Illinois and not Chicago? Because I am from the City, not Bloomingdale. That is all. ;p

So, from this source, it looks like there will finally be some purikura, or photo booths for people not in the loop, for taking super cute photo stickers to share with friends. Hallelu!
Purikura machine, round 1

For the people who were and still are friends of purikura machines and the cute lil stickers in Chicago, this is and can be great news and a major update. We had a print club booth that was regularly out of order and one could not even use custom backgrounds with their pictures that was customary with these types of photos. Then there was the photo booth that was in Chinatown.... I am not sure which one was even better at that point. The pictures were usually a touch too dark compared to the dated photo booth that was located at one of the arcades near Mitsuwa.

I am looking forward to checking out these booths when it opens up! Just need to find a way to get out there....

Floating Through the City

I sit at my new fave coffee shop, Argo Tea for a quick snack of Macarons with a lovely touch of Hibiscus tea on the side. When I feel like I have the time, I take a stroll in my city. I tend to wander mostly in the downtown area, taking in the sights and sounds of various parts that are still yet hidden to me.

I decided to walk through Old Town and make my way over to the Magnificent Mile. The luxury stores seemed most spectacular on a sleek, moonstone grey rainy day.

Water Tower photography by Lisha

I like to pop in and out of stores in the Water Tower. There is a Henry Bendel store that opened up several years ago and also a super cute and brainy Marble Store.

Henry Bendel New York Store photography by Lisha

Henri Bendel is one of the stores that Gossip Girl's Blair shopped from. It originated from New York in 1895, their iconic print is a vertical white and brown stripes, and Henri also assisted Coco Chanel in bringing some of her items to America from Paris. How romantic!! <3

Giving the store a look see, I fell in love with some of the purses and accessories. I am also a sucker for the cute little charms they had there too! They also had cute doggy goods too! So adorable!
Though I couldn't get pix inside, I saw that stacking lots of bracelets were totally in in the store. Yippu! >:D

Though I am not a big Gossip Girl fan, I know that my sister and also Ms. Ariell are! Maybe Ariell will come to Chicago one day and check out the store...

I also was highly interested in The Marble store, a place filled with games and books to exercise your brain! I got to play a bit of Anomia, a card game whose name means "not to know". It is a phenomenon when you stall and can't think of an answer, something I do at times. Playing the game a lot is said to help lower the time you stall when you are thinking with a lot of pressure put on you.
I also got to play with these little things called Brain Drops. They expand in water and you can pop them at people! A few of them were popped at me and totally caught me by surprise! XD

Edmund, one of the Marble Store people,  showed me a few various games, and also suggested a trivia book for me to read called The Book of General Ignorance which busts myths throughout history! Weird title >___> but it dispels a lotta stuff in it. SOOOOO, I am glad I got a new book for my collection.

Lisha Misha22 Now on Society6!
Grand Opening Goodies!

I now have a brand sparkly new Society6 account! Its about damn time right!!? Time to let my works get out from hibernation and shine!! There will defo be new designs on the way!

Lisha Misha On Society6
I have been quite shy about showing my art and even more shy about selling it over the years. I've sold some drawings and paintings here and there, and maybe showing off a piece of art here and there too. I am not quite sure why it scares me, but, I hope people will enjoy and appreciate them!

I am also going to (hopefullllly) have prints to sell at anime and comic cons for next year too. A lot of people have been asking about them when I attend these conventions, and I hope to be prepared for once!
