C2E2+AfterParty!

Working hard!

So, very early Saturday morning (til about 12:30am) I helped a few new cosplaying friends as a volunteer who are apart of Club Adventure. They all create and collaborate on making cardboard Transformer's gear. I got to meet them, and also lend my painting skills to help them edge their project along. They were all working so hard when I got there, and even though they had movies playing in the background, Club Adventure or "The Transformers" (they are known for their costumes at conventions in Chicago) were so productive and dedicated to getting their cosplays done!

Character reference for painting parts.

Even though I had work at 10am-3, I made it to C2E2  at 4 to network, and also talk about my blog, Midwest new gyaru-sa: Gal*Luxy, and how we were trying to bring the Gyaru Culture, a fresher and more positive one, to the Midwest.

After I left the SugarGamers booth at C2E2, I went to the After Party at Sakura Lounge where we held a raffle there and gave away some cool prizes.

My big sister Ashley A. Woods and friend Shomari.

I had quite a few pix, but editing them all would have been way too much with all the work I have to do!

Comic Con weekend

We go way back.

Black Artists Unite!

This last weekend, I helped out at the  Sugar Gamers booth at Comic Con Chicago aka Wizard World  and also got to do some networking and talking to various artists as well!
I got some pretty helpful tips for working on con commissions, doing art in general and also played Soul Caliber against some of the  Sugar Gamers. Whooped some ass and got whooped myself ┓(*´゚ω`)┏ but it was fun.
It was interesting being more behind the scenes at a convention and being a bit more business minded than most  of my con going days.
Also  had found some old highschool friends who banded together to do comix! Totally inspiring.
One of these days I will totally sell art at a con.
Even met Cerita! I think its the first time meeting...? XO

I got to serve some interesting customers, played rock paper scissors for like two hours straight because a girl wanted to win my prize ( a cute bento bag with strawberry print) . She had to beat me 50 times to win it! She was determined!

FINALLY posting these pix from late May lol.
Please enjoy.
I didnt get a lot of shots, but there wasnt a lot of great cosplays this year in my opinion. I did gyaru style as usual lol and I met up with Dino and Alan to dance Koi Shita Ano Natsu with a group of his friends too.
Second day, Saturday, met up with Kira*Kira and Krystal plus Moga and Juli and Kevi.
Also drank with Alan, Dino, their friends plus my old friend Crys from highschool. good times lol. I missed the rave though because I was pretty out of it lol
